Men’s Football tournament at the 2012 London Olympics is exactly two weeks away and the 16 participants are slowly completing the team rosters.

After it was announced that Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani would lead the Uruguay squad the odds have been slashed on la Celeste and Sportingbet now pays 8.5 (15/2) on Oscar Tabarez’s side.

As a result, the price on hosts Great Britain continue to drift and Stuart Pearce’s side, deprived of Gareth Bale and David Beckham, are 9.40 (44/5) with Betfair.

“GB are not one of the favourites for the competition, but a fair number of the players called up have had experience with Pearce as their manager and so that could help them progress further than most would expect,” said William Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

The odds on Brazil have also been slashed immediately after Mano Menezes named what is a very strong squad and Seleccao are now mere 2.88 (17/9) with Bodog to win their first ever Olympic gold.

Spain have remained the second favourites at the 2012 Olympic Games, with 888sport paying 3.50 (5/2) on La Furia Roja.

It is believed that these four sides will be competing for the Olympic gold, although Mexico and Switzerland could spring a surprise.
