Bayern vs GladbachHigh-flying Borussia M’gladbach will attempt to extend their unbeaten run and shock Bundesliga leaders Bayern when they host them on Sunday afternoon.

The Bavarians are four points clear at the top after winning their last four league fixtures and they arrive at Borussia-Park in great spirits.

Borussia M’gladbach have been on a major uptrend ever since Lucien Favre took over the reigns some three and a half years back and they look set for another successful season.

The club managed to sign several high-quality players in the summer without spending too much money and their shrewd transfer dealings have paid off big time.

Die Fohlen are in a good position to reach the Europa League knockout stages after taking five points from three matches, while their league campaign has been even more impressive.

Borussia recorded four wins and as many draws in the first eight matches to climb to second in the league standings and they are now 8.20 (36/5) to see off mighty Bayern Munich.

Lucien Favre has no fresh selection worries at the moment, although several first team regulars will be recalled after they were rested in midweek.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Sommer – Korb, Stranzl, Jantschke, Wendt – Nordtveit, Xhaka – Hahn, Raffael, Johnson – Kruse.

Chances are Bayern Munich were not too disappointed by the German Super Cup defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the curtain-raiser, given that both sides were without a number of key players in that match.

As a result, the Bavarians quickly hit the ground running and they have been quite impressive on all fronts ever since.

Bayern Munich won all three fixtures in a very strong Champions League group, hammering AS Roma 7-1 at Stadio Olimpico, while creating a four-point cushion at the Bundesliga summit.

Given that Pep Guardiola’s charges are on a six-match winning run in all competitions, they are rightly considered 1.45 (9/20) favourites to defeat Borussia.

The Spanish coach could make a couple of changes to the side that beat Roma in midweek, with Dante, Rafinha and Franck Ribery pushing for starting places.

The infirmary remains quite packed though seeing as how Bastian Schweinsteiger, Thiago Alcantara, Holger Badstuber, Javi Martinez, Pepe Reina and Tom Starke are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-2-1): Neuer – Boateng, Dante, Alaba – Robben, Alonso, Lahm, Bernat – Muller, Gotze – Lewandowski.
