Gladbach vs LeverkusenBorussia M’gladbach will be looking to keep their Champions League hopes alive by defeating Bayer Leverkusen, which is easier said than done.

Die Werkself have won last seven league fixtures, although they head into this match without a number of first team regulars.

Borussia M’gladbach have been blowing hot and cold throughout the current campaign, but they were not exactly punished for their latest setbacks.

Die Fohlen surprised everyone by losing to struggling Hannover and Ingolstadt, thus seriously damaging their top 4 hopes.

However, Borussia then showed improvement to beat Hoffenheim and share spoils with Bayern Munich, meaning the matters are back in their own hands.

Die Fohlen now know they will secure Champions League qualification if they win the two remaining fixtures and they are 1.95 (19/20) to win the first of those.

Key midfielder Lars Stindl returned into action at Allianz Arena and he is now pushing for a starting berth for the Leverkusen game.

With Andre Hahn impressing of late, chances are that Thorgan Hazard will be dropped from the starting line-up to accommodate the return of the former Hannover skipper.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-1-2): Sommer – Elvedi, Christensen, Nordtveit – Traore, Dahoud, Xhaka, Wendt – Stindl – Hahn, Raffael.

Bayer Leverkusen did not exactly impress this season, but the outstanding season finale should provide much needed boost for the next campaign.

Die Werkself recorded seven straight wins to secure the final automatic Champions League berth with two games to spare, meaning they have nothing to play for at the moment.

But, having delivered a blow to the top 4 hopes of both Schalke and Hertha, Bayer Leverkusen will be looking to play it fair and adopt the same approach against their rivals Borussia M’gladbach.

And while die Werkself did win last three away fixtures in the Bundesliga, it is important to note they will not be at full strength in Monchengladbach.

Admir Mehmedi is expected to deputise for the suspended Karim Bellarabi, while Lars Bender and Christoph Kramer will be forced to play in defence.

The likes of Jonathan Tah, Wendell, Kyriakos Papadopoulos, Sebastian Boenisch and Vladlen Yurchenko all miss out through injury.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Leno – Bender, Kramer, Toprak, Henrichs – Mehmedi, Kampl, Aranguiz, Brandt – Kiessling, Hernandez.
