Gladbach vs LeverkusenThe two sides may have already secured Champions League qualification, but there will still be a lot left to play for when they meet at Borussia Park.

Namely, the fourth-placed team will be forced to play in the qualifying stages and that is something both Gladbach and Leverkusen hope to avoid.

Lucien Favre will go down as one of club’s most successful coaches ever, having transformed the team from relegation strugglers to Champions League hopefuls in just a year or so.

And while die Fohlen also achieved a top 4 finish in Bundesliga in the 2011/2012 campaign, they eventually failed to qualify for the CL group stages, so they will definitely want to avoid a similar scenario.

An excellent run of results saw Borussia won six of their last seven matches, while they are unbeaten in eleven, and they head into the Bayer Leverkusen clash two points clear of the opposition.

But, chances are they will attempt to win the game and virtually secure a top 3 finish, so bear in mind that home win pays 2.55 (14/9).

Borussia have been thoroughly impressive at home of late, winning last eight Bundesliga games at Borussia Park, keeping no fewer than five clean sheets in the process.

While Martin Stranzl continues to miss out through a knee problem, Alvaro Dominguez remains a doubt through a back injury.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Korb, Jantschke, Brouwers, Wendt – Kramer, Xhaka – Herrmann, Raffael, Johnson – Kruse.

While other sides apart from champions Bayern would impress one season only to struggle the next, Bayer Leverkusen have probably been the most consistent side in German Bundesliga.

Die Werklsef are now set for a third straight top 4 finish, and they even have a chance to end the league campaign in second position.

Having won eight of last nine league matches, Leverkusen are clearly the league’s in-form side and their defensive record has been just as impressive as that of Borussia.

Roger Schmidt’s charges kept seven clean sheets in that period, with 2-0 victory over champions Bayern Munich the highlight of their campaign.

Leverkusen now need to try and defeat Borussia if they want to achieve a top 3 finish, with away win available at 2.90 (19/10) at Ladbrokes.

Coach Schmidt has some selection problems at the moment seeing as Karim Bellarabi is banned and Lars Bender is doubtful with a thigh injury. The likes of Kyriakos Papadopoulos, Gonzalo Castro and Robbie Kruse are definitely out.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Leno – Hilbert, Jedvaj, Toprak, Wendell – Reinartz, Rolfes – Brandt, Calhanoglu, Son – Kiessling.
