PSG vs Bordeaux 2-1The ultimate dead rubber match will see mid table side Bordeaux take on Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain in Wednesday’s rearranged match.

But, even though neither side have a lot to play for at the moment, we could see an entertaining affair at the new Stade Matmut-Atlantique.

Bordeaux are no longer considered one of France’s top sides as the club simply do not have the means to compete with the likes of PSG and Monaco.

Les Girodins’ youth academy is also not as impressive as that of Lyon and Rennes, so their latest downtrend in fortunes is not that surprising.

Bordeaux will finish the current campaign in mid table, although they could still end up in top half if they win at least one of two remaining games.

Les Girondins recovered well from the home loss to high flying Angers as they went on to beat Troyes and Lorient in their last two fixtures, scoring no fewer than seven goals in the process.

However, with star-studded Paris Saint-Germain now arriving to Stade Matmut-Atlantique, the hosts will have much bigger fish to fry.

Talented Adam Ounas is pushing for a starting berth, but Cedric Carrasso, Nicolas Maurice-Belay and Mauro Arambari are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Prior – Debuchy, Guilbert, Pallois, Contento – Plasil, Chantome, Vada – Malcom, Diabate, Ounas.

Paris Saint-Germain secured their fourth straight Ligue 1 trophy with quite a few games to spare, and they will now have a tough time of keeping hold of their star players.

The Saints have failed to reach the final stages of the Champions League yet again, crashing out in the quarter-finals fourth time in a row, but they enjoyed plenty of success on domestic stage.

Besides clinching the league trophy, PSG lifted the Coupe de la Ligue title and will be vying rivals Marseille for Coupe de France trophy.

This is one of the reasons why coach Laurent Blanc will want his side to perform against Bordeaux, with away win paying 1.57 (4/7).

Important midfielder Blaise Matuidi misses the Bordeaux game through injury, but he should be fit for the Coupe de France final.

Marco Verratti, Javier Pastore, Gregory van der Wiel and Nicolas Douchez are expected to miss the clash at Stade Matmut-Atlantique as well.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Trapp – Aurier, Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Maxwell – Stambouli, Motta, Rabiot – Di Maria, Ibrahimovic, Cavani.
