High-flying Bordeaux have now won three of their last four league fixtures and they will be looking to see off fourth-placed Lyon as well.

Les Gones have struggled to keep up with the leading pack, but a win at Stade Matmut-Atlantique could see them revive their top 3 bid.

Bordeaux haven’t enjoyed too much success over the last few years, meaning that the current season can be characterised as a pretty decent one.

With 11 games to go, les Girondins occupy fifth position in the standings and they stand a decent chance of securing European qualification.

Bordeaux have been especially impressive of late, winning six of their last eight matches in all competitions, losing only to holders PSG in the process.

Les Girondins defeated Lorient in midweek to secure their place in the Coupe de France quarter-finals and they are 3.50 (5/2) to defeat Lyon on Friday.

Head coach Jocelyn Gourvennec still has some selection problems as Abdou Traore, Maxime Poundje, Youssouf Sabaly and Thomas Toure are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Carrasso – Gajic, Jovanovic, Pallois, Contento – Vada, Toulalan, Sankhare – Malcom, Laborde, Kamano.

Lyon have been blowing hot and cold throughout the current campaign, winning 15 but losing 10 league matches, although they still have a chance to secure Champions League qualification.

Les Gones sit seven points behind PSG and Nice, but with a game in hand, and they head to Stade Matmut-Atlantique in pretty good spirits.

Lyon have now won four successive matches in all competitions, hammering AZ Alkmaar in Europa League (4-1, 7-1), while also recording comfortable triumphs over Dijon and Metz on domestic stage.

This means that les Gones will be feeling confident heading into the Bordeaux clash, where they have been made 2.25 (5/4) favourites to claim maximum points.

Lyon’s official website has revealed that Maxime Gonalons and Maciej Rybus are back in contention, but Jeremy Morel continues to miss out.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Lopes – Jallet, Mammana, Diakhaby, Rafael – Gonalons, Tolisso – Cornet, Fekir, Depay – Lacazette.
