Bayern vs BVBArch rivals Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund go into the derby game in highly contrasting moods, but we all know current form rarely plays a part in these kinds of matches.

This is why 15th-placed Millionaires have reason for optimism ahead of the clash with reigning champions and current leaders at their Alianz Arena.

The new season has started really well for the Bavarians, who sit at the top of German Bundesliga and their Champions League group.

It is the European campaign that has been a major success given that Bayern enjoyed three triumphs in a very tough group, with 7-1 win at Stadio Olimpico the highlight of their season.

Meanwhile, the Bavarians suffered several slip-ups in the league, but were not punished for them and currently sit four points clear at the Bundesliga summit.

And with their bitter rivals losing last four league fixtures, it is hardly surprising Bayern have been made 1.53 (8/15) favourites to claim maximum points.

Former Borussia Dormtund striker Robert Lewandowski has been raising his form of late and the Polish forward is 1.95 (19/20) to score anytime.

Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery could both start on the bench as they are still not at 100 percent, while Reina, Starke, Badstuber, Martinez, Schweinsteiger and Thiago remain on the sidelines.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-2-1): Neuer – Benatia, Boateng, Alaba – Rafinha, Lahm, Alonso, Bernat – Muller, Gotze – Lewandowski.

This season is proving to be a real rollercoaster ride for Borussia Dortmund, as the team just cannot get their league campaign back on track.

Oddly enough, the Millionaires have largely impressed on all other fronts, winning all three Champions League fixtures while recording two resounding triumphs in DFB Pokal.

However, BVB have slipped to the danger zone after losing last four Bundesliga matches, although it is obviously only a matter of time before they come good.

A morale-boosting victory over their bitter rivals would be a perfect way to end a barren run, and there may be some value in odds of 7.00 (6/1) offered on away win.

Having won three of last five meetings with Bayern Munich in all competitions, the Millionaires certainly have a chance to claim maximum points.

Dong-Won Ji has suffered a knee injury, while Jakub Blaszczykowski, Marcel Schmelzer and Nuri Sahin are close to returning into action.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-2-1): Widenfeller – Piszczek, Subotic, Hummels, Sokratis – Mkhitaryan, Kehl, Grosskreutz – Kagawa, Reus – Aubameyang.
