Arjen RobbenBayern Munich hotshot Arjen Robben will miss the start of the new season through injury, it has been revealed.

The 32-year-old, who has been linked with a summer exit, recently made it clear he had no intention of leaving the Allianz Arena, but it appears he will have a tough time securing a starting berth this season.

Robben is expected to miss some six weeks of action through an adductor injury, meaning he will be unavailable for pre-season training, German Super Cup vs Borussia Dortmund and few more league fixtures.

The experienced winger had struggled with various injuries over the last few years, but he, nonetheless, proved he can mix it up with the best of them when fit.

It remains to be seen how new coach Carlo Ancelotti will see his role in the team, but no doubts that Robben will be challenging for starting positions when he recovers from injury.

The Dutch footballer has spent last seven years in Munich, and he scored a total of 77 goals in 142 Bundesliga appearances.
