South Africa vs AlgeriaSenegal and Algeria currently occupy the top two positions in Group C, but they could both get eliminated if they lose this encounter.

And while the Lions of Terranga only need one point to secure their progress, Les Fennecs are unlikely to go through unless they win in Malabo.

Senegal did well to climb to the top of the group ahead of the final round of fixtures, but they cannot afford to relax just yet.

The Lions of Terranga did well to come from a goal behind and beat Ghana in their opening fixture, before they came back from a losing position to draw against South Africa.

As a result, they only need one point to qualify for the next round, although avoiding defeat against very good Algeria side will be no easy task.

Senegal do have plenty of firepower up front and they are available at 3.20 (11/5) to win their final group fixture.

Coach Alain Giresse surprisingly opted to rest some of his star players in the second group game, and that could prove a very good strategy.

As a result, the likes of Cheikhou Kouyate, Papy Djilobodji, Pape Souare and Dame N’Doye could be recalled to the side for the Algeria clash.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Coundoul – L. Sane, Mbodji, Djilobodji, Souare – Gueye, Kouyate, Diop – N’Doye, Diouf, Mane.

Following the impressive display at the 2014 World Cup and some strong performances in the AFCON 2015 qualifiers, Algeria were considered one of the main candidates for the title at the tournament finals.

Les Fennecs, however, largely struggled in their opening match against South Africa, even if they eventually managed to record a 3-1 triumph.

Algeria then showed a lot of improvement at the back as they faced Ghana, and were unfortunate to concede a very late goal and lose the game.

Les Fennecs are now in a position where only a win over Senegal would guarantee them progress and they are 2.62 (13/8) to claim maximum points.

Christian Gourcuff is still sweating over the fitness of key attacker Islam Slimani, who looks set to miss the final group fixture.

This means that Ishak Belfodil is likely to continue as a lone striker, with Feghouli and Brahimi providing support from the flanks.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): M’Bolhi – Mandi, Bougherra, Medjani, Ghoulam – Lacen, Bentaleb, Taider – Feghouli, Belfodil, Brahimi.
