Mexico vs EcuadorMexico made amends for the goalless draw with Bolivia as they held hosts Chile to a 3-3 stalemate, and they now have a chance to secure their progress into the knockout stages.

Ecuador, on the other hand, might not go through even with a win, but they will give their best to win this game and keep their chances alive.

Mexico coach Miguel Herrera selected two separate squads for the Copa America and Gold Cup tournaments, with most key men missing the showpiece in Chile.

Nevertheless, the back-ups grabbed their chance with both hands and it was quickly evident they were not there only to make the numbers add up.

El Tri failed to defeat Bolivia in their opening fixture despite outplaying the opposition, but they managed to make amends with a very good performance against Chile.

Mexico proved a real danger on the counterattack, scoring three goals to secure one point, and they can now be backed at 2.55 (14/9) to defeat Ecuador.

After Rafael Marquez had suffered an injury in the first group game, Adrian Aldrete picked up an ankle problem against Chile and the tournament is over for him.

Probable starting line-up (5-3-2): Jose Corona – Flores, Valenzuela, Ayala, Dominguez, Salcedo – Medina, Guemez, Jesus Corona – Vuoso, Jimenez.

Ecuador may have shown promise at the 2014 World Cup, narrowly missing out on a place in the knockout stages, but they arrived at the 2015 Copa America severely weakened.

The likes of Antonio Valencia, Felipe Caicedo, Jaime Ayovi, Angel Mena and Michael Arroyo all missed out on the final squad through injury.

And with star striker Enner Valencia struggling for fitness, nobody was surprised to see La Tri lose the opening game to hosts Chile.

However, having also suffered a 3-2 defeat to Bolivia, Ecuador find themselves in a very difficult situation at the moment.

And while they are 3.00 (2/1) to defeat Mexico and keep their qualifying hopes alive, they could face a very difficult task against El Tri.

The good news is that central defender Gabriel Achilier has recovered from injury and he will keep his place in the starting line-up.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Dominguez – Paredes, Achilier, Erazo, W. Ayovi – Noboa, Quinonez – Martinez, Bolanos, Montero – E. Valencia.
