Wolfsburg vs EvertonBundesliga high-flyers Wolfsburg saw their impressive run come to an end last weekend, but they remain odds-on favourites to defeat Inter Milan in the first leg of the Europa League last 16.

The Nerazzurri somehow managed to avoid second successive defeat in Serie A and the late show against Napoli should keep them in good stead for the clash at Volkswagen Arena.

Despite ultimately failing to keep up with mighty Bayern Munich, Wolfsburg can be quite satisfied with how this season has panned out so far, although they cannot afford to relax just yet.

The Wolves should have no problem securing Champions League qualification, while they are still in the race for Europa League and DFB Pokal trophies.

After finishing second in their EL group behind Everton, Dieter Hecking’s charges recorded a 2-0 aggregate win over Sporting Lisbon to earn a clash with Inter Milan in the next stage.

And despite the weekend’s 1-0 loss to Augsburg, Wolfsburg remain 1.70 (7/10) favourites with William Hill to win the first match.

Dieter Hecking has received a major boost as key midfielder Ivan Perisic resumed full training from an adductor injury, although the Croat is not yet ready to start.

After bagging 13 goals in last 10 matches for the Wolves, in-form striker Bas Dost is expected to cause opposition defenders all sorts of problems.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Benaglio – Vieirinha, Naldo, Knoche, Rodriguez – Guilavogui, Gustavo – Caliguri, De Bruyne, Schurrle – Dost.

Former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has endured some tough times after returning to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, although his side have shown some improvement of late.

A three-match winning streak in Serie A came to an end as the Nerazzurri lost at home to Fiorentina, while they were on the verge of defeat in weekend’s clash with Napoli at Stadio San Paolo.

Nevertheless, Inter showed a great deal of character to come from two goals behind and earn a draw that should have a very positive effect on the player’s confidence.

But, with the Nerazzurri still struggling for form, it is not that surprising they are priced at 5.50 (9/2) with bet365 to win at Wolfsburg.

Roberto Mancini has some selection problems ahead of the trip to Germany given that Yuto Nagatomo, Jonathan, Hugo Campagnaro and Joel Obi are out injured.

The boss is also expected to make several changes to his starting line-up, with Juan Pablo Carrizo and Hernanes tipped to start.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-1-2): Carrizo – D’Ambrosio, Ranocchia, Juan, Santon – Guarin, Medel, Hernanes – Shaqiri – Icardi, Palacio.
