Wolfsburg vs EvertonWolfsburg will be out to get revenge on Everton for the 4-1 defeat at Goodison and at the same time stake their claim for the first position in Group H.

Meanwhile, the Toffees aim to continue their unbeaten run at Volkswagen Arena and remain top of the group ahead of the final round of fixtures.

Heavy investment in the playing squad is finally paying off for Wolfsburg, who are on the road to become one of Germany’s top sides.

The Wolves have been absolutely brilliant on domestic stage this term, climbing to second in the Bundesliga standings and they currently sit four points clear of fifth-placed Hannover.

Team’s impressive eight-match winning streak in all competitions came to an end as they were beaten by Schalke at the weekend, but Wolfsburg are 1.91 (10/11) to return to winning ways.

After sharing spoils with Lille, the Wolves defeated FK Krasnodar 5-1 in their second home fixture, but they obviously face a much tougher task against Everton.

Boss Dieter Hecking faces serious selection problems ahead of Thursday’s match seeing as how Vieirinha, Riccardo Rodriguez and Joshua Guilavogui are all rated doubtful.

The trio looks set to sit out the Everton game, but Patrick Ochs has resumed training after a lengthy spell on the sidelines and should be ready to play after the winter break.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Benaglio – Trasch, Naldo, Knoche, Schafer – Malanda, Gustavo – Hunt, de Bruyne, Perisic – Bendtner.

Everton are clearly enjoying the return to European stage, and Roberto Martinez’s charges have so far been quite impressive in arguably the strongest Europa League group.

The Toffees are unbeaten in first four fixtures and are on the verge of securing their place in the next stage, having taken eight points so far.

And while Everton are slowly raising their form in the league, Roberto Martinez’s side hope to extend the bright run of results in Germany, and they can be backed at 2.00 (1/1) not to lose at Volkswagen Arena.

The Spanish coach faces all kinds of injury worries ahead of the trip to Germany, with the only positive being the return of Arouna Kone into action.

Steven Naismith, Antolin Alcaraz and John Stones have been ruled out, whilst Leighton Baines, Steven Pienaar, Darron Gibson, Bryan Oviedo and Gareth Barry are also unlikely to feature.

This means that Tony Hibbert will probably continue on the left flank, whilst Muhamed Besic, Samuel Eto’o and Christian Atsu could get a chance to shine.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Howard – Coleman, Jagielka, Distin, Hibbert – McCarthy, Osman – McGeady, Besic, Atsu – Eto’o.
