Liverpool youngsters will get another chance to impress after the promising showing in the 5-3 victory over Young Boys, but they will be up against a full strength Udinese side, who are looking to make amends for the 1-1 draw with Anzhi.

The mere fact that Brendan Rodgers keeps resting his key players in Europa League games might suggest the Reds are not treating this competition very seriously, but this may not be entirely true.

The European games are a great opportunity for a plethora of talented youngsters to prove their worth to the boss and improve their status in the squad, which is exactly what Raheem Sterling, Andre Wisdom and Suso have done.

With the Reds finally improving on the domestic stage, the hosts are likely to be even more motivated to continue the good run against Udinese, so bear in mind home win pays 1.60 (3/5) at Sportingbet.

A number of first team regulars will be rested for the Sunday’s clash with Stoke City, but Joe Cole could start after recovering from injury.

It is important to note the Reds are unbeaten in 13 European fixtures at Anfield since losing to Fiorentina in December 2009.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Jones – Robinson, Carragher, Coates, Jose Enrique – Shelvey, Henderson, Suso – Downing, Borini, Assaidi.

For the second time running Udinese missed out on Champions League group stages by losing in the play-offs and they had to settle for the consolation prize that is Europa League.

The Zebrette were almost punished for Francesco Guidolin’s decision to rest most his starters in the first group fixture against Anzhi, but Toto Di Natale came off the bench to score the equalizer deep into injury time.

The Friulani have since shown some improvement, beating Milan and sharing spoils with Torino and Genoa in Serie A, and they now aim to continue the good run against Liverpool.

Given that Francesco Guidolin is expected to field his strongest side at Anfield, odds of 6.00 (5/1) offered at Bodog on away win could be worth a shot.

Talismanic striker Antonio Di Natale returns to the starting line-up after clashing with the boss during last week, while Dusan Basta is doubtful through injury.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-1-1): Brkic – Benatia, Danilo, Domizzi – Pereyra, Badu, Pinzi, Lazzari, Armero – Fabbrini – Di Natale.
