Fiorentina vs Dynamo KievFiorentina got their reward for a good performance in the dying stages of the first match and they are the favourites to go through after a 1-1 draw in Kiev.

That is not to say that Dynamo do not stand a decent chance of upsetting Viola, especially taking into account their poor domestic form.

The big squad of quality players was supposed to keep Fiorentina in good stead for successfully competing on three fronts, but things haven’t exactly gone according to plan.

Vincenzo Montella’s numerous changes to the starting line-up appear to have prevented the team from hitting the ground running and the team are now nowhere bear matching their pre-season objectives.

Fiorentina were eliminated in the Coppa Italia semi-finals, while slipping to sixth in Serie A, meaning the Europa League is their only chance of winning some silverware and qualifying for the Champions League.

This is probably the main reason why Vincenzo Montella rested a number of key players in Monday’s defeat to Hellas Verona, although Khouma Babacar was unfortunate to suffer a knee injury after coming on as a substitute.

And with a number of star players now set to be recalled, Fiorentina have been made 1.80 (4/5) favourites to win at Artemio Franchi.

Giuseppe Rossi continues to miss out, but Milan Badelj should be available for selection. Alessandro Diamanti and Alberto Gilardino are ineligible.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Neto – Tomovic, Rodriguez, Savic, Alonso – Fernandez, Badelj, Valero – Joaquin, Gomez, Salah.

The 26-time Ukrainian champions have endured some tough times since the emergence of Shakhtar Donetsk, but a six-year wait for a league title could be over soon.

Dynamo sit five points clear at the league summit with just six games to go, although they have yet to face their title rivals on the road.

Meanwhile, Serhiy Rebrov’s charges eliminated Guingamp and Everton to reach the Europa League quarter-final and they were very close to winning the first leg against Fiorentina.

But, with their next opponents going through a very rough patch, Dynamo will have another opportunity to make things right, so bear in mind the Ukrainian giants are 3.25 (11/5) to qualify for the semis.

Serhiy Rebrov has no fresh injury worries at the moment, but Miguel Veloso and Evgeniy Makarenko remain on the sidelines.

Artem Kravets should be preferred to Lukasz Teodorczyk up front, while Jeremain Lens will be recalled to the side.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Shovkovsky – Danilo, Khacheridi, Dragovic, Antunes – Rybalka, Sydorchuk – Yarmolenko, Belhanda, Lens – Kravets.
