Porto vs SevillaOne of the most interesting ties in Europa League quarter-finals will see the 2011 winners FC Porto take on Spanish giants Sevilla, who have two EL trophies to their name.

The Dragons were another high-profile side that failed to progress from the Champions League group stages, but they have since done well in the Europa League.

Following the narrow win over Eintracht Frankfurt, FC Porto impressed to pip Napoli to a place in the quarter-finals, but their performances on domestic stage left a lot to be desired.

And while the Dragons did well to defeat arch rivals Benfica in the first leg of the Taca de Portugal semi-finals, the team are already out of the title race in the league seeing as how they now sit 15 points behind the Eagles.

But, at least such a situation will allow Porto to fully focus on their Europa League game against Sevilla, where they are 1.92 (23/25) to win the first leg.

New boss Luis Castro is hoping to have defenders Eliaquim Mangala and Maicon available for Thursday’s game, but they are rated doubtful at the moment.

First choice keeper Helton has been ruled out for the season with a knee injury, whereas attacker Kelvin is struggling with a bout of flu.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Fabiano – Danilo, Reyes, Ba, Alex Sandro – Herrera, Fernando, Defour – Quaresma, Martinez, Lica.

Despite being predicted a very difficult season, Sevilla have been in stunning form this season, especially in the second part of the campaign.

The recent six-match winning run saw them revive their top 4 bid, although the weekend’s loss to Celta Vigo could have been avoided.

Meanwhile, los Rojiblancos eliminated Slovenian side Maribor in the Europa League first knockout round before pipping local rivals Real Betis to a place in the quarter-finals.

Sevilla did well to overturn a two-goal deficit from the first leg, but they will be hoping to fare much better in the opening game against FC Porto.

And having won four straight away fixtures before the Celta game, los Rojiblancos can be backed at 4.50 (7/2) to win at Estadio do Dragao.

Important players Federico Fazio and Stephane M’Bia miss out through suspension, but Daniel Carrico and Beto should be fit to play.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Beto – Coke, Pareja, Navarro, Moreno – Iborra, Carrico – Reyes, Rakitic, Gameiro – Bacca.
