Celta Vigo are taking part in the semi-finals of a major European competition for the first time in club’s history, and they are keen to make the most of the opportunity that presented itself.

Man Utd, on the other hand, hope that Europa League trophy will secure them Champions League qualification with top 4 finish in the Premier League looking unlikely.

Celta Vigo have been on a major uptrend over the last few years and they have continued to impress in both Spain and Europe.

The Sky Blues did well to establish themselves as a genuine top table side in La Liga, while also ending a ten-year wait for an appearance in Europa League (UEFA Cup) group stages.

Having lost all chances to achieve a top 6 finish in La Liga, Celta Vigo decided to fully focus on their European campaign and that is proving a very good decision.

The Sky Blues defeated the likes of Shakhtar Donetsk, FK Krasnodar and Racing Genk to reach the semi-final, where they will battle Manchester United for a place in the final.

Eduardo Berizzo was able to rest most starters in recent league fixtures, and now his strongest side is set to face the Red Devils.

Goalkeeper Ruben Blanco has resumed training after a lengthy spell on the sidelines, while Giuseppe Rossi is a long-term casualty.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Alvarez – Mallo, Cabral, Fontas, Jonny – Hernandez, Radoja – Aspas, Wass, Sisto – Guidetti.

Even though jury is still out on Jose Mourinho and his maiden season at Old Trafford, the Red Devils appear to have shown some improvement under his guidance.

That is unlikely to prove enough for a top 4 finish in English Premier League, but the League Cup trophy has given the team a much needed confidence boost.

Manchester United now hope to lift the Europa League title as well and thus secure their place in next year’s Champions League.

That will be no easy task considering that the Red Devils face a genuine injury crisis ahead of the first leg against Celta Vigo.

Jose Mourinho has confirmed that both Phil Jones and Chris Smalling are out injured, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo miss out as well.

The good news is that Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini should return, while Eric Bailly and Luke Shaw are rated doubtful.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): De Gea – Valencia, Carrick, Blind, Shaw – Herrera, Fellaini – Mkhitaryan, Pogba, Lingard – Rashford.
