Dortmund vs BayernArguably the most interesting tie in the Europa League Last 16 stage will see German giants Borussia Dortmund take on Premier League title contenders Tottenham Hotspur.

And with both teams suffering costly slip-ups at the weekend, they will both have a lot to prove when they square off at Signal-Iduna Park.

Borussia Dortmund aren’t exactly used to playing Europa League football, but even though they were not always at their best, ten points from six group games proved enough for a place in the knockout stages.

The Millionaires then turned on the style to record a double win over FC Porto, thus earning a chance to battle Spurs for a place in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, they did really well to kick-start their title bid in Bundesliga, closing the gap behind Bayern Munich to five points, but were unable to make it two as they shared spoils with their bitter rivals at the weekend.

Nevertheless, having produced a very good showing against the Bavarians, Borussia have been rightly made 1.60 (3/5) favourites to win the first leg.

There are no fresh selection worries for coach Thomas Tuchel, with only Sokratis Papastathopoulos unavailable through injury.

Therefore, the highly rated tactician is expected to field an unchanged side to that which played out a goalless draw with Bayern Munich.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Burki – Piszczek, Bender, Hummels, Schmelzer – Weigl, Gundogan – Durm, Mkhitaryan, Reus – Aubameyang.

Tottenham Hotspur can count themselves quite unfortunate to be five points behind Premier League leaders Leicester City taking into account their latest performances.

Spurs deservedly got into a position to fight for the Premiership trophy thanks to an incredible run of results, but it was their excellent performances that made all the difference.

Tottenham did not let 1-0 defeat to West Ham get to them as they completely outclassed Arsenal in the North London derby, but were punished for a number of missed chances as ten-man Gunners scored the equalizer through Alexis Sanchez.

And while the Premier League title chase remains the priority, Spurs also want to do well in Europa League, and they will not be lacking motivation for the Borussia Dortmund game.

The good news is that Dele Alli has recovered from knee and ankle injuries, although he is suspended for the EL clash after accumulating three yellow cards.

Danny Rose has picked up a calf injury, while manager Mauricio Pochettino is expected to make some changes to the side.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Lloris – Trippier, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Davies – Dier, Mason – Son, Chadli, Eriksen – Kane.
