Winston ReidNew Zealand star Winston Reid has ended speculation regarding his future by signing a new long-term deal at Boleyn Ground.

The highly rated defender has put pen to paper on a six-and-a-half-year contract as he ultimately decided to snub interest from England’s top clubs in favour of staying at West Ham.

With his previous deal running until June 2015, Reid was heavily linked with a summer exit, with even manager Sam Allardyce virtually admitting defeat in an attempt to keep the centre-back at the club.

However, Big Sam as well as club fans received a major boost as it was revealed Reid had signed a new deal at Boleyn Ground.

“It’s one of those things that took a bit of time, but we got there in the end,” said Reid.

Winston Reid joined West Ham from Midtjylland in 2010 and has since made 121 league appearances, scoring 6 goals.

West Ham slipped to tenth in the Premier League standings as they suffered second straight defeat, but they can now be backed at 1.25 (1/4) to end the season in top half.
