Kun Aguero

With just two weeks until the start of the new Premier League, we look at who the favourites are to finish the 2015/16 campaign as the division’s top scorer.

Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero, who won the Golden Boot last season, currently heads the market at a best price of 4.0 (3/1).

The Argentina international struck twenty-six league goals last season – five more than his nearest rival – to take his tally for City to one hundred and seven in all competitions, while his EPL tally of seventy-eight is bettered by only four other players currently playing in the division.

Chelsea’s Diego Costa is second favourite at 7.0 (6/1) with Bet Victor, having helped his club secure the championship with twenty goals in just twenty-six league games in his first season in England.

The former Atletico Madrid man finished third in last season’s list of top scorers, with Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane ending up in second place with twenty-one.

Last season was a breakthrough campaign for the twenty-one year old, who played in all but four league games for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, and he is priced at 15.0 (14/1) with a number of firms to score more than anybody else in England’s top flight this time around.

2015/16 could well me a momentous campaign for Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney, who needs twenty goals to become the club’s all-time top scorer.

The striker, who is also just two goals away from beating Sir Bobby Charlton’s scoring record for England, scored only twelve in the league last season, but can be backed at 17.0 (16/1) with Sky Bet to win what would be his first Golden Boot next May.

Also in the running are Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and Liverpool new boy Christian Benteke, who can each be backed at 21.0 (20/1) with Coral while the latter’s new teammate Daniel Sturridge is a 26.0 (25/1) shot with Bet 365, along with Olivier Giroud.

Manchester United’s new signing Memphis Depay is, like Eden Hazard, priced at 29.0 (28/1) with Sporting Bet while Radamel Falcao, Theo Walcott and Wilfried Bony are all 34.0 (33/1) with Bet 365.
