West Ham United vs Chelsea Preview

Saturday’s Premier League action kicks off at the London Stadium where struggling West Ham United take on champions Chelsea.

The Hammers have won just one of their last eleven league games – a run that has seen them slip to second bottom in the table.

Their return of ten points from fifteen games is their worst tally since the inception of the division meaning they had more on both of the occasions where they have dropped down to the second tier.

A return to winning ways here could see them, if only temporarily move level on points with seventeenth place though their inferior goal difference is almost certain to mean that they will remain in the bottom three until the next round of games at the very least.

Javier Hernandez is set to return after missing the last five weeks with a hamstring injury while Winston Reid will be assessed ahead of kick-off after nursing a similar problem.

Hernandez is priced at 9.5 (17/2) chance with a number of firms ahead of Andre Ayew who is a 15.0 (14/1) chance with several companies.

The home win is best priced at 7.5 (13/2), with the visitors widely available at 1.5 (1/2). The draw can be backed at 4.65 (62/17) with Unibet.

The visitors could move level on points with second place Manchester United with a win here, with the Red Devils playing top of the table Manchester City at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Blues boss Antonio Conte may be tempted to name the same that beat Newcastle United a week ago, having made several changes for their midweek draw with Atletico Madrid.

Out of favour defender David Luiz won’t feature as he remains sidelined with a knee problem.

Alvaro Morata is the favourite to open the scoring at 4.2 (16/5) with Eden Hazard a 5.3 (43/10) chance with Unibet.

Both teams have scored in each of the last five meetings between the sides, and you can back that outcome this time around at 1.91 (10/11) with William Hill, while the same price is on offer from the same firm for there to be three or more goals in the game.
