The Premier League returns this weekend, and events get underway at Vicarage Road where Watford face Manchester United.

The hosts currently sit in eleventh place with sixteen points – eight ahead of the bottom three and eight behind their opponents.

After finishing October with back-to-back 2-0 victories, they began November with a 2-1 defeat to high-flying Leicester City though a return to winning ways will see them if only temporarily move level on points with eighth place Crystal Palace.

Sebastian Prodl could miss the game after injuring his calf whilst playing for Austria while Jose Manuel Jurado is also unlikely to feature as he struggles to shake off a hamstring problem.

Top scorer Odion Ighalo is 8.5 (15/2) to open the scoring with Bet 365 ahead of captain Troy Deeney who is a 10.0 (9/1) chance with the same firm.

The home win is as highly priced as the 4.8 (19/5) on offer from Bet Victor, with the visitors widely available at 1.91 (10/11). The draw is a 3.5 (5/2) chance with Betfred.

Louis van Gaal’s side are unbeaten in their last four league games, and they haven’t conceded a single goal in that run.

Three points here will see them leapfrog Leicester, Arsenal and rivals Manchester City into first place ahead of the rest of the weekend’s fixtures.

Michael Carrick is set to miss out after picking up an ankle injury whilst with England while Anthony Martial will be assessed after injuring his foot on international duty.

Chris Smalling and Marouane Fellaini face late fitness tests ahead of the game though Antonio Valencia, Paddy McNair and Luke Shaw are definitely out.

Wayne Rooney, fresh from scoring his fifty-first international goal is 7.0 (6/1) to get the first goal of the game with a number of firms, with Juan Mata a 9.0 (8/1) chance with Coral.

Manchester United have won the last eight meetings between the sides in all competitions averaging almost three goals in each of those games.

With that in mind you may be tempted to back the Red Devils to score at least three goals this time around at 5.5 (9/2) with Sky Bet.
