Tom Cleverley to miss two months through injury

Tom CleverleyEverton midfielder Tom Cleverley is set for a fairly lengthy spell on the sidelines, it has been revealed.

The 26-year-old joined the Toffees this summer on a free transfer from Manchester United and has since started all four games for his new club.

However, the talented footballer suffered a an ankle problem in the goalless draw with Tottenham and the extend of the injury has now been disclosed.

Having suffered an ankle ligament damage, Cleverley will now miss between six and eight weeks of action.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez went on to reveal how long the England international would be out.

“Knowing Tom and how fit and strong he is, we’re looking at a six-week period,” Martinez was quoted as saying.

Everton had a somewhat slow start to the new Premiership campaign, taking five points from four matches and can now be backed at 4.20 (16/5) to see off struggling Chelsea.
