Saturday’s late kick off in the Premier League sees Swansea City host champions Manchester United.

Michael Laudrop’s men begin the new season on the back of a remarkable campaign which saw them achieve a ninth place finish and win the league cup – the first piece of major silverware in the clubs 101 year history.

They have recruited well in the summer, with a whole host of new signings including record buy Wilfred Bony and Jonjo Shelvey all vying for a starting birth.

The Swans only absentee is Jonathan de Guzman who is unavailable due to concussion; with both Shelvey (illness) and Pablo Hernandez (groin) fit to play.

Ivory Coast international Bony scored 31 goals in just 30 league appearances for Vitesse Arnhem in the Dutch Eredivise last season, and is priced at 9.0 (8/1) with Ladbrokes to score first, with last season’s top scorer Michu available at the same price with the same firm.

The home win is available at 4.0 (3/1) with a variety of firms, while you can back United at 2.1 (11/10) with Bet Victor who price the draw at 3.6 (5/2).

The visitors go in to the game on the back of last weekend’s Community Shield victory over Wigan Athletic at Wembley, and could once again be without striker Wayne Rooney despite him playing over an hour for England on Wednesday.

The 27 year old barely featured for the club during their preseason preparations amid continuing speculation regarding his Old Trafford.

Michael Carrick (eye) and Javier Hernandez (thigh) are both doubtful, while Rafael completes a three game suspension.

Last season’s top scorer Robin van Persie is favourite to get the first goal of the game, with Bet Victor offering the best price of 4.8 (19/5), while Danny Welbeck, who scored England’s second goal midweek is available at 7.5 (13/2).

The spoils were shared in the corresponding fixture last season, with Michu cancelling out Patrice Evra’s sixteenth minute header, while United were 2-1 winners when the sides met at Old Trafford in the penultimate game of last season.

With such an array of attacking talent on display, you may be tempted to back both teams to score at 1.73 (8/11) with Bet Victor while you can get 8.0 (7/1) from the same firm for a repeat of last season’s 1-1 scoreline.
