Raheem Sterling EnglandLiverpool forward Raheem Sterling will not be in contention for Tuesday’s friendly versus Italy, according to the latest reports.

The England starlet will take part in the Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania, where the Three Lions are 1.53 (8/15) for a half-time/full-time win, but he is unlikely to be risked in said friendly.

Namely, Sterling is carrying a toe injury and he will probably be allowed to return to Liverpool immediately after the Lithuania game.

The Reds face a top 4 six-pointer against Arsenal early on Saturday and they will want their star player to have the best chance of playing full ninety minutes.

Meanwhile, Tottenham starlet Ryan Mason has been called to replace Adam Lallana, and he will be hoping to be handed a debut alongside teammate Harry Kane.

With Daniel Sturridge missing out through injury, the Spurs striker is widely tipped to start alongside Wayne Rooney up front.
