Saturday’s match at St Mary’s sees high flying Southampton host struggling Queens Park Rangers.

The Saints currently sit second in the Premier League, just three points behind leaders Chelsea after picking up ten points from the last twelve available, while they go in to the game on the back of Tuesday evening’s come from behind win against Arsenal in the third round of the Capital One Cup.

Manager Ronald Koeman will be without James Ward-Prowse, who has been side-lined for ten weeks after sustaining a foot injury in last weekend’s 1-0 win at Swansea City, while James Rodriguez is still two months shy of a first team return.

Graziano Pelle is favourite to open the scoring at 5.0 (4/1) with Bet 365, with Shane Long a 5.5 (9/2) shot with a variety of firms.

The home win in is widely available at 1.44 (4/9), with QPR a 9.0 (8/1) shot with Bet Victor, who offer 4.6 (18/5) for the draw.

Harry Redknapp’s side have taken just four points from the opening five games of the season, one of which came in last weekend’s clash with Stoke City where they twice came from behind to salvage a draw.

Nico Kranjcar, Adel Taarabt and Sandro all face late fitness tests head of the game, while fellow midfielders Joey Barton and Jordan Mutch are both out with hamstring injuries.

Charlie Austin is priced at 12.0 (11/1) with Bet 365 to get the first goal of the game with Bobby Zamora a 15.0 (14/1) shot with the same firm.

Both meetings between the sides in the 2012/13 campaign finished in away victories, with QPR’s win at Loftus Road in September 2008 the only home triumph in this fixture for eight and a half years while four of the last five games between the sides have seen both teams score.

You can back both teams to score this time around at 2.15 (23/20) with William Hill, while the same firm offer 1.91 (10/11) for there to be at least three goals in the game, as there has been on six of the last eight occasions.
