Sunday’s Premier League action concludes at St Mary’s Stadium where Southampton face Manchester United.

The hosts have taken six points from their opening five league games, and began the weekend in twelfth place – two points above the relegation zone.

They have failed to score in three of those games, and last weekend’s 0-0 draw against West Bromwich was their second goalless match of the campaign so far.

Ronald Koeman is without a number of first team players, with Frasier Forster, Jordy Clasie, Florin Gardos and Ryan Bertrand all out while Gaston Ramirez remains doubtful with a hamstring injury.

Graziano Pelle is widely available at 7.5 (13/2) to get the first goal of the game, while Jay Rodriguez is an 8.5 (15/2) shot with a number of firms.

The home win is as highly priced as the 3.25 (9/4) on offer from Coral, with the visitors favourites at 2.5 (6/4) with most bookmakers. The draw can be backed at 3.3 (23/10) with Bet 365.

Louis van Gaal’s side beat fierce rivals Liverpool 3-1 at Old Trafford last weekend, but go into the game on the back of Tuesday evening’s defeat in Eindhoven.

As well as taking no points from their Champions League opener, they lost defender Luke Shaw who suffered a double leg fracture and is set to miss the majority of the campaign.

Phil Jones looks set to miss out again though captain Wayne Rooney is set to return after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury.

England’s all-time top scorer is favourite to open the scoring at 6.5 (11/2) with a number of firms, ahead of 7.5 (13/2) chance Anthony Martial.

Both of last season’s meetings between the sides ended in victory for the away side with last season’s corresponding match ending in a 2-1 win for United last December, before a Dusan Tadic scored the only goal of the game at Old Trafford in January.

Prior to that 1-0 win for the Saints, both teams had scored in the previous six meetings so you may be tempted to back that outcome this time around at 2.0 (1/1) with William Hill.
