Sunday afternoon’s game from St. Mary’s Stadium sees Southampton take on Chelsea.

The Saints go in to the game on the back of back-to-back league defeats, while they needed penalties to get past Everton in their EFL Cup third round tie midweek.

They are just two points above the relegation zone after Saturday’s results though could rise to as high as twelfth with a resounding victory here.

Alex McCarthy, Ryan Bertrand and Mohamed Elyounoussi are all available after they returned to training this week while Shane Long could also feature after recovering from a toe injury.

Danny Ings is priced at 8.5 (15/2) to open the scoring, ahead of Charlie Austin who is a 9.5 (17/2) chance with Bet Victor.

The hosts are as highly priced as the 6.1 (51/10) chance with Unibet, with the visitors favourites at a widely available 1.62 (8/13). The draw can be backed at 4.25 (13/4).

Maurizio Sarri continued his unbeaten start to life as Chelsea manager with a 1-0 win over Hungarian side Vidi in the Europa League on Thursday evening though they have only managed to draw their last two league fixtures – form which has seen them slip to third place.

They will, if only temporarily return to the top of the table if the win here with the division’s top two – Liverpool and Manchester City – facing off at Anfield later in the day.

Sarri is expected to recall several first team regulars who were rested midweek, with Eden Hazard, Jorginho and N’Golo Kante all expected to come back in.

Hazard is favourite to get the first goal of the game at a widely available 5.0 (4/1) with Olivier Giroud a 5.3 (43/10) chance with Unibet.

Chelsea have on each of the last six occasions where these sides have met, a run culminating in their FA Cup semi-final victory at Wembley back in April.

Last season’s corresponding fixture was a thrilling encounter, ending in a 3-2 away win and you can back there being over 4.5 goals this time around at 6.25 (21/4) with Unibet while the same firm offer 1.85 (11/13) for both teams to score.
