Fraser ForsterEngland international goalkeeper Fraser Forster is on the brink of signing for Southampton, BBC Sport has learned.

The Saints are believed to have agreed a £10 million fee with Celtic after the Scottish giants had previously rejected one offer from St Mary’s.

With Forster also agreeing personal terms with the Premiership side, the transfer should be made official over the weekend, subject to the player passing a medical.

Newcastle are set to receive £2.5 million once the deal is completed as they are entitled to 25% of the transfer fee.

After seeing a host of first team regulars leave over the summer, the Saints have finally started reinforcing the squad, having kept hold of Jose Fonte and Morgan Schneiderlin while signing Forster.

Seeing as how the club are expected to add more quality players to their ranks in the coming weeks, there should be value in backing Southampton to finish in top 10 at 2.75 (7/4).
