Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will soon meet with the club owners in Abu Dhabi as he starts planning for the new season.

The Spaniard’s first campaign at Etihad Stadium was quite a disappointing one, but the club board appear ready to stick by their boss.

After Guardiola led Man City to a third-place finish in the Premier League and automatic Champions League berth, he will be given time and money to overhaul the current squad.

Major changes are expected at the back as Gael Clichy, Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna are all set to leave, with Kyle Walker, Benjamin Mendy and Alex Sandro being mention as potential replacements.

Juventus star Leonardo Bonucci has long been on Guardiola’s radar, and even with Vincent Kompany returning into action, the Citizens may launch a fresh assault on the Italy international.

The highly rated tactician didn’t get a chance to reinforce the full-back positions last summer, but he is bound to make things right this time out.
