Alan PardewNewcastle boss Alan Pardew has conceded that the club may not be able to keep hold of their star players in the summer.

After Demba Ba joined Chelsea in January, few more high-profile players are expected to leave St James’ Park in the summer.

Tim Krul, Hatem Ben Arfa, Yohan Cabaye and Cheick Tiote are all on the radar of several top European clubs.

“We’re one of those clubs where we’re liable to lose one of our great players to a Champions League team through finance – and sometimes the will of the player,” Alan Pardew confessed.

“You can’t keep a player who doesn’t want to stay. Having said that, it’s going to be very difficult for any club to get a player out of here unless it’s a serious or big bid.”

French winger Hatem Ben Arfa seems to be nearing summer exit, with Paris Saint-Germain the 7.00 (6/1) favourites with SkyBet to lure him to Parc des Princes.

Meanwhile, Newcastle seem to be losing the chase for their former striker Andy Carroll, who has reportedly agreed to join West Ham on permanent basis.
