Premier League

Saturday’s Premier League action concludes at St James’s Park, where Newcastle United face Liverpool.

Having secured safety some weeks ago, the hosts are on a good run of form having taken seven points from the last nine available to them – following back-to-back wins with a draw at troubled Brighton and Hove Albion last time out.

Ayoze Perez is expected to feature despite bruising his hip at the Amex Stadium, while captain Jamaal Lascelles is set to return having missed that game through illness though DeAndre Yedlin, Miguel Almiron, Florian Lejeune and Sean Longstaff are all out.

Salomon Rondon can be backed at 11.0 (10/1) to open the scoring, with Perez a 13.0 (12/1) chance with Unibet.

The home win is as highly priced as the 10.5 (19/2) on offer from Betfair, with the visitors favourites at 1.36 (4/11) with most firms. The draw is available at 5.25 (17/4) with Unibet.

Jurgen Klopp’s side go into the game having been soundly beaten by Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final, though seven straight league wins sees them well in the title race with two to play.

Another win here would see them move back into pole position, with Manchester City hosting Leicester City on Monday evening.

Naby Keita will miss the rest of the season after picking up a groin injury at the Nou Camp and Roberto Firmino, who only made the bench midweek will be assessed ahead of kick-off while Trent Alexander-Arnold may be recalled at right-back.

Mo Salah is favourite to get the first goal of the game at 4.20 (16/5) with several bookmakers, with Sadio Mane a 5.5 (9/2) chance with Betfair.

Liverpool eased to victory in the reverse fixture back on Boxing Day, to the tune of a 4-0 triumph while last season’s corresponding match finished all square – the only point they have taken from St. James’s Park from their last three visits.

You can bet on both teams to score this time around at 2.1 (11/10) while there is a price of 3.0 (2/1) on offer from some firms for there to be four or more goals scored in the game.
