The weekend’s Premier League action kicks off at St James’ Park where Newcastle United face league leaders Chelsea.

The hosts go in to the game on the back of Tuesday evening’s 1-1 draw with Burnley, and only Jose Mourinho’s men have taken more points from their last six league matches.

The two points dropped at Turf Moor did see the Magpies slip to ninth place though victory here would see them move level on points with Arsenal in sixth.

They North East side are however top of the injury table, with no less than eight players out of this game including Tim Krul, Ryan Taylor, Siem de Jong and Shola Ameobi though Roland Aarons and captain Fabricio Coloccini are expected to recover from their respective ailments in time to feature.

Ayoze Perez is priced at 12.0 (11/1) to get the first goal of the game with Bet 365, with Papiss Cisse a 13.0 (12/1) chance with Stan James.

The home win is as highly priced as the 8.0 (7/1) on offer from Bet Victor, with the visitors favourites at a widely available price of 1.53 (8/15) while the draw can be backed at 4.33 (10/3) with Bet 365.

The Blues brushed aside Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday evening to extend their unbeaten run to a club record twenty-three games and maintain their six point lead of champions Manchester City at the top of the table.

Top scorer Diego Costa is available after a one-match suspension though Gary Cahill is a doubt after picking up a head injury midweek.

Costa, who has eleven goals in eleven league games for Chelsea so far, is unsurprisingly favourite to open the scoring at 4.6 (18/5) with Bet Victor, with Eden Hazard a 7.0 (6/1) shot with the same firm.

Chelsea beat Newcastle without conceding both home and away last season, and they are priced at 2.4 (7/5) with Bet Victor to do so this time around while they can be backed at 1.62 (8/13) with Coral to score at least twice as they have done in six of their last seven matches against Alan Pardew’s side.
