Saturday’s Premier League action kicks off at St James’ Park where Newcastle United face Arsenal.

The hosts go in to the game fresh from booking their place in the third round of the League Cup by thumping Northampton Town on Tuesday evening, though they are yet to win in the league.

They have taken just two points from Steve McLaren’s first three games, and have won just once in their last fourteen altogether.

Mohammed Sissoko could return after missing last weekend’s goalless draw with Manchester United though Curtis Good, Sylvain Marveaux and Emmanuel Riviere are all out.

Pappis Cisse is 11.0 (10/1) to open the scoring with Bet 365, with Georginio Wijnaldum a 13.0 (12/1) chance with the same firm.

The home win can be backed at 6.0 (5/1) with a number of firms, with the visitors favourites at 1.67 (4/6) with Coral. The draw is a 4.33 (10/3) chance with William Hill.

The Gunners have taken four points from their opening three games, and drew with Liverpool last time out.

They have lost just two games from their last seventeen in the league, while they haven’t lost in the league away from home since their 2-1 defeat to rivals Tottenham Hotspur back in February.

Centre-back pair Per Metersacker and Laurent Koscielny are both pushing for returns after missing Monday’s draw though Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky and Danny Welbeck all remain side-lined.

Olivier Giroud is favourite to get the first goal of the game at 5.5 (9/2) with Paddy Power, with Alexis Sanchez priced at 6.0 (5/1) with the same firm.

Arsenal won both of last season’s meetings between the sides winning 2-1 in the North East back in March after thumping the Magpies 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium in December.

It is almost ten years since Newcastle last beat Arsene Wenger’s side at home, with Nolberto Solano netting the winner in December 2005.

You can back an away win with both teams scoring at the widely available price of 3.4 (12/5), while Bet Victor offer 3.1 (21/10) for there to be four or more goals in the game.
