Dele AlliBBC Sport has learned that Newcastle are winning the chase for MK Dons hotshot Dele Alli, who is likely to remain with the League One side until the summer.

The 18-year-old has caught the eye of quite a few Premier League sides with his showings this season, with the attacking midfielder having bagged impressive 12 goals in 26 league outings.

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson admits the youngster could be sold in January, but only if the buying club allows him to remain until the end of the season.

“I can’t see him not wearing our shirt for the rest of the season,” Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio.

“Part of the deal would be him staying with us for the rest of the season and joining whoever it is in the summer. There’s no deal completely confirmed yet.”

However, BBC Sport understands that Newcastle have all but reached an agreement with the League One side, and they look set to win the chase for one of England’s hottest prospects.

The Magpies currently sit just outside the top 10 positions, but they can be backed at 2.62 (13/8) to finish the campaign in the top half.
