French giants Monaco have moved to confirm their interest in Newcastle star Yohan Cabaye amidst speculations linking the Frenchman with a summer exit.
The France international recently admitted he could leave the club in the summer transfer window, with Manchester United and Monaco believed to be keen.
Cabaye seems ready to join a top European club as he is disappointed by Newcastle’s failure to mount a serious challenge for European places.
Monaco are looking to offer the midfielder an escape route from St James’ Park, with club chief Vadim Vasilyev admitting interest in Cabaye.
“Yohan Cabaye? He is an exciting player,” Vasilyev confessed to French newspaper L’Equipe.
