Marseille striker to choose Tottenham over Juventus

BatshuayiHighly sought-after attacker Michy Batshuayi is coming off from an impressive season, which saw him get on the radar of a number of European clubs, including the Italian champions Juventus.

The 22-year-old Belgian international has scored 23 goals for Marseille this season, which has alarmed the Italian giants, but also the Premier League title contenders Tottenham Hotspur as well as their city rivals West Ham United.

Batshuayi is believed to be keen on making a Premier League switch and Spurs are thought to be his preferred destination, according to Evening Standard.

Tottenham’s three other Belgians – Dembele, Vertonghen and Chadli – could have played a crucial role in convincing Batshuayi to turn his attention away from Serie A giants Juventus and to have him directed towards London.

Spurs have been monitoring Michy Batshuayi since he was at Belgian club Standard Liege.

Belgium striker is valued at around £25 million and White Hart Lane club are thought to be willing to wrap up the deal before the 2016 European Championship finals in France where this 22-year-old in-form striker is believed to be given a starring role.

Sitting on the cusps of the UEFA Champions League berth Tottenham Hotspur are looking to increase competition upfront and release the pressure of their sole centre forward this season Harry Kane. Tottenham need two more wins to be guaranteed a place in Europe’s elite club competition.

London-based club have taken a step back in their title charge however, having drawn 1-1 with West Brom on Monday. This result came at the worst possible time as Spurs are heading towards the city derby against last year’s champions Chelsea next Monday.

Pochettino’s men are standing at the odds of 2.5 (6/4) @Bet365 to grab maximum three points from their visit to Stamford Bridge.
