The 2015/16 Premier League season kicks off this weekend, with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur getting proceeding underway at Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime.

The Red Devils broke back into the Champions League qualification places last season finishing in fourth place, six points ahead of Spurs and seventeen behind champions Chelsea.

They have had a fairly successful pre-season, winning three of their four games in the International Champions Cup though they were beaten in their last game – losing 2-0 to Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain on Thursday.

Sergio Romero, Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay are all in line to make their debuts, while the hosts’ only injury concerns are over goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard and forward Javier Hernandez.

Captain Wayne Rooney, who is closing in on the all-time scorers record for both club and country, is favourite to open the scoring at 5.0 (4/1) with a variety of firms, while new boy Depay can be backed at 6.25 (21/4) with 888 Sport.

The home win can be backed at 1.65 (13/20) with Betfair, with the visitors priced at 6.25 (21/4) with Bet Victor, who have the draw at 4.1 (31/10).

Mauricio Pochettino’s side won their final three games of last season to leapfrog Liverpool, and they are set for yet another campaign in the Europa League.

Like Van Gaal, the Spurs boss has been busy in the transfer market drafting in defensive trio Kieran Trippier, Kevin Wimmer and Toby Alderwiereld and all three are in line to make their bows for the North London club here.

Captain Hugo Lloris is likely to miss the game after breaking his wrist, while winger Andros Townsend, who has been strongly linked with a move away from White Hart Lane this summer, is a doubt with a shoulder problem.

Harry Kane is 8.0 (7/1) to get the first goal of the game with 888 Sport, with Christian Eriksen a 14.0 (13/1) chance with same firm.

Both teams have scored in five of the last seven meetings between these two sides, so you may be tempted to back that outcome here at 1.91 (10/11) with William Hill.
