Tuesday evening’s game at Old Trafford sees Premier League champions Manchester United face neighbours, and title favourites Manchester City.

United go into the match on the back of two straight victories, the last of which coming at West Ham United on Saturday afternoon, where Wayne Rooney move to third on the clubs all time goal-scorers list.

The result kept alive their hopes of finishing in a European qualification places, and victory here would see them move to within two points of fifth place Tottenham Hotspur.

David Moyes could potentially be without four centre-backs, with Jonny Evans, Rio Ferdinand and Chris Smalling all doubtful and Nemanja Vidic suspended.

Antonio Valcencia should recover from an eye problem in time to feature, though Robin van Persie is out for up to six weeks with a knee injury.

Wayne Rooney is 8.0 (7/1) to get the first goal of the game with Ladbrokes, ahead of Juan Mata, who can be backed at 13.0 (12/1) with the same firm.

The home win is generously priced at 3.5 (5/2) with a variety of firms, with City favourites at 2.2 (6/5) with Bet Victor, who price the draw at 3.6 (13/5).

With Chelsea thumping Arsenal 6-0 and Liverpool and Cardiff City sharing out nine goals in South Wales, City’s 5-0 win over Fulham on Saturday arguably went somewhat under the radar.

In truth, it was a superb performance from Manuel Pellegrini’s side, who can move three points behind leaders Chelsea with victory over their fierce rivals.

The visitors will be without injured duo Sergio Aguero and Matija Nastasic, though captain Vincent Kompany is set to return after missing out at the weekend through suspension.

Edin Dzeko is favourite to open the scoring at 7.5 (13/2) with most bookmakers, while Yaya Toure, who bagged a hat-trick last time out, is 9.0 (8/1) with Bet 365.

City ran out 4-1 winners when the sides met at the Etihad Stadium back in September to follow up the 2-1 victory they recorded at Old Trafford towards the end of last season.

Both teams have scored in six of the last seven meetings, and you can back them to do so this time around at 1.6 (3/5) with Bet Victor.
