The 2018/19 Premier League campaign kicks off on Friday evening as Manchester United welcome Leicester City to Old Trafford.

The hosts finished last season in second place but were a massive nineteen points behind the champions, their noisy neighbours Manchester City.

Transfer Deadline Day was rather quiet for the Red Devils, with their business done early and Brazilian international Fred is likely to make his debut in the season opener though fellow new arrival Diogo Dalot is injured.

A whole host of other players are also unavailable with this game coming to soon for Antonio Valencia, Marcos Rojo, Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic while a late decision will be made on those players who returned late from the World Cup.

That said – Romelu Lukaku is favourite to get the first goal of the game at 4.33 (10/3) with several firms, with Alexis Sanchez a 5.2 (21/5) chance with Unibet.

The home win can be backed at 1.53 (8/15) with several bookmakers with the visitors as highly priced as 8.0 (7/1). The draw is priced at 4.25 (13/4) with Unibet.

Claude Puel guided his side to ninth place last term and he will be keen to build on that after not just bringing in a host of new faces but holding on to England international Harry Maguire amid reported interest from this weekend’s opponents.

Defenders Calgar Soyuncu and Filip Benkovic completed their moves to the King Power Stadium on Thursday but are unlikely to feature though Ricardo Pereira, Rachid Ghezzal, Jonny Evans and James Maddison are all in line for their debuts.

Jamie Vardy is widely available at 9.0 (8/1) to open the scoring with Shinji Okazaki a 13.0 (12/1) shot with Unibet.

Last season’s corresponding fixture ended in a 2-0 home win last August with goals coming from Marouane Fellaini and Marcus Rashford, before the sides played out a 2-2 draw in the East Midlands four months later.

You can back a home win to nil this time around at 2.3 (13/10) while Unibet offer 3.65 (45/17) for there to be four or more goals scored in the game.
