Sunday’s Premier League action kicks off at Old Trafford where Manchester United host Everton.

The hosts began the weekend in seventh place having taken eight points from their first six games – two off the top four and eight behind leaders Chelsea.

They bounced back from a 5-3 defeat at Leicester City with victory over West Ham United last weekend – a game in which they saw captain Wayne Rooney sent off in the second half following a rash challenge on Stewart Downing.

With the England skipper set to miss three matches, Juan Mata is set to deputise while Paddy McNair is expected to keep his place in defence following his impressive debut at Upton Park meaning Tyler Blackett will have to make do with a place on the bench having served his ban.

Ander Herrera has a broken rib and joins defensive trio Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans on the side-lines, though Marouane Fellaini could make the bench following an ankle problem.

Radamel Falcao, who has this week been strongly linked with a permanent move to Old Trafford, is favourite to open the scoring at 5.5 (9/2) with Bet 365, with Robin Van Persie a 7.0 (6/1) shot with the same firm.

United are odds on favourites to win the match with most bookmakers offering a price of 1.67 (4/6), with Everton as highly priced as the 5.8 (24/5) on offer from Stan James. The draw is widely available at 4.2 (16/5).

Captain Phil Jagielka’s sublime stoppage time equaliser salvaged a point against Merseyside rivals Liverpol last time out in the league, taking the Toffee’s tally to six from six games, while they also drew their Europa League match at Krasnador on Thursday.

Kevin Mirallas has been ruled out for a month with a hamstring injury, with Seamus Coleman and James McCarthy are also likely to miss out though Steven Pienaar and Sylin Distin are set to return.

Samuel Eto’o, who grabbed the equaliser in Russia, is 9.5 (17/2) to get the first goal of the game with Bet 365 with Romelu Lukaku an 8.5 (15/2) chance with the same firm.

Everton have won three of the last four meetings between the sides without conceding, and you can back that outcome here at a generous 13.0 (12/1) with Coral while Sky Bet offer 3.25 (9/4) for a home win to nil.
