Saturday’s game at Old Trafford sees fourth place Manchester United face fifth from bottom Aston Villa.

The hosts go in to the games on the back of four straight league wins, and have lost just one of their last nine – a run which sees them sit in the last of the Champions League qualification places.

Victory here would see them leapfrog neighbours Manchester City and move to within five points of league leaders Chelsea with just seven games to go, the next two of which being against the two aforementioned sides.

Robin van Persie will again miss out as he struggles to recover from an ankle injury, while Chris Smalling is doubtful with an illness though Luke Shaw could return.

Captain Wayne Rooney, who has scored twelve goals against Villa so far in his career, is favourite to net first at 4.5 (7/2) with a variety of firms, with Juan Mata widely available at 7.0 (6/1).

The home win is 1.33 (1/3) with Bet 365, who have the draw at 5.75 (19/4) while the visitors are as highly priced as the 12.0 (11/1) on offer from a number of bookmakers.

Villa have lost eight of their last ten league games and go in to this fixture on the back of a narrow defeat at home to Swansea City a fortnight ago.

They sit just three points above the relegation zone level with Hull City, who are a place above them in fifteenth by virtue of goal difference.

Captain Ron Vlaar is set to return after missing the last six weeks with a calf injury, while Joe Cole and Jores Okore are also available for selection.

Christian Benteke is 13.0 (12/1) to open the scoring with Stan James, with Scott Sinclair a 26.0 (25/1) chance with 888 Sport.

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw at Villa Park back in December, while United won the previous encounters scoring at least three goals in six of those games.

With than in mind, you may be tempted to back the hosts to score over 2.5 goals this time around at 2.5 (6/4) with Coral.
