Manchester City vs Everton Preview

The second round of Premier League fixtures concludes at the Etihad Stadium where Manchester City face Everton.

Both sides began the campaign with three points with Pep Guardiola’s side beating newly promoted Brighton and Hove Albion while a textbook header from a returning Wayne Rooney was enough to see Ronald Koeman’s side edge past Stoke City.

The hosts have no fresh injury concerns though the game comes too soon for Fabian Delph and summer signing Benjamin Mendy.
However, Ilkay Gundogan could feature after missing the last eight months with a knee injury.

The Germany international made just ten league appearances last season, scoring three times and he is 8.0 (7/1) to get the first goal of the game here with Sergio Aguero favourite at 4.0 (3/1) with William Hill.

The home win can be backed at 1.33 (1/3) with the visitors as highly priced as the 12.0 (11/1) on offer from Bet Victor. The draw is widely available at a price of 6.0 (5/1).

Having played three times in qualifying for the Europa League already so far this season the Toffees go in to this game on the back of a four game winning run and are yet to concede.

Sandro Ramirez could return having missed Thursday’s Europa League win over Hadjuk Split with a heel injury while Gylfi Sigurdsson could make his debut following his arrival from Swansea City.

Rooney is 14.0 (13/1) to open the scoring with Unibet ahead of Davy Klassen, who can be backed at 26.0 (25/1) with Sky Bet.

Last season’s corresponding fixture took place last October and ended in a 1-1 draw while the meeting at Goodison Park back in January ended in a 4-0 romp for the Merseyside outfit – the heaviest league defeat of Guardiola’s career.

The five meetings previous to that game seven months ago each saw fewer than three goals and you can back that outcome this time around at 2.3 (13/10) with a number of firms.

Alternatively, you may want to back both teams to score in the game which is widely available at 2.05 (21/20).
