The latest round of Premier League fixtures concludes at the Etihad Stadium on Monday evening as title favourites Manchester City host second favourites Chelsea.

The home side began weekend in first place having leapfrogged Arsenal in midweek after thumping Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 at White Hart Lane on Wednesday evening, while the Gunners could only draw at Southampton twenty-four hours earlier.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men are on a twenty-game unbeaten run, while in the league they have taken thirty-four points from the last thirty-six available to them.

Top scorer Sergio Aguero has been ruled out for a month with a hamstring injury, and joins Samir Nasri and Javi Garcia on the side-lines.

Alvaro Negredo is set to be recalled after being rested last time out, and is widely available at 5.5 (9/2) to get the first goal of the game, with Edin Dzeko a 7.5 (13/2) chance with Bet Victor.

City are odds on for the victory, with William Hill offering the best odds of 1.91 (10/11), with Chelsea 4.6 (18/5) with Bet Victor, who price the draw at 3.75 (11/4).

The visitors were left frustrated after being held to a goalless draw by West Ham United on Wednesday evening, though that result took their unbeaten run to eight matches, and they will move level on points with their opponents should they take all three points here.

Mohamed Salah is in line for his Blues debut after training with his new teammates for the first time on Friday, with Fernando Torres and Marco van Ginkel remaining the clubs only absentees.

Samuel Eto’o is 9.0 (8/1) with Bet Victor to open the scoring, with top scorer Eden Hazard a 13.0 (12/1) shot with the same firm.

Chelsea emerged victorious when the sides met at Stamford Bridge back in October, while City won last season’s corresponding fixture just under a year ago.

City have won all eleven of their home fixtures in the league so far this season, averaging just under four goal in those games, though Chelsea boast the best away defensive record in the division.

The goalless draw, which is widely available at 13.0 (12/1) in this instance, is always worth considering when there is little between two sides, especially with the stakes so high.

However, with the hosts so lethal in front of goal you may fancy them to record a narrow victory with the 1-0 home win priced at 9.0 (8/1) with Ladbrokes.
