Saturday’s Premier League action concludes at the Etihad Stadium where champions Manchester City face FA Cup finalists Aston Villa.

The hosts bounced back from back-to-back defeats with victory over West Ham United last weekend, a result which kept them twelve points behind leaders Chelsea, and five points clear of the chasing pack in the race for a top four spot.

Victory here would see them leapfrog both Manchester United and Arsenal into second place, with both sides playing on Sunday.

Captain Vincent Kompany will miss the game through injury, along with Stevan Jovetic, Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri and James Milner and Wilfried Bony are both doubtful but David Silva should be fit enough to feature.

Top scorer Sergio Aguero is favourite to open the scoring at 4.0 (3/1) with a variety of firms, while Edin Dzeko can be backed at 5.1 (41/10) with 888 Sport.

The home win is widely available at 1.3 (3/10) with the visitors as highly priced as the 13.0 (12/1) on offer from Betfair, who have the draw at 6.5 (11/2).

Tim Sherwood’s men have taken four points from the last six available to them in the league and go into the game on the back of last weekend’s FA Cup quarter final victory over Liverpool.

The Villains currently sit four points above the bottom three with just five games remaining, and victory here would see them move up to fourteenth place if it was coupled with a Newcastle United defeat to Swansea City.

Gabriel Agbonlahor is set to return from a hamstring problem, with Phillipe Senderos and Aly Cissokho also in line for comebacks.

Carlos Sanchez could also be recalled following a suspension, though Libor Kozak, Nathan Baker, Chris Herd, Ciaran Clark and Alan Hutton are all out.

Christian Benteke has nine goals in his last seven games and can be backed at 11.0 (10/1) to get the first goal of the game with Bet 365, with Agbonlahor a 17.0 (16/1) chance with the same firm.

In six of City’s last nine league wins over Villa, they have scored at least three goals and can be backed at 1/1 (2.0) with Coral.
