As we enter the penultimate month of the season, talk has turned to the individual awards, and Easter weekend sees a clash between the two hot favourites for LMA Manager of the Year.

Good Fridays fixture at the Liberty Stadium sees ever impressive Swansea City host a Newcastle United still pushing for an unprecedented top four finish.

The Swans have exceeded all expectations this campaign, and despite being favourites for relegation, they are already all but certain to be plying their trade in the Premier League next term.

The addition of Icelandic international Gylfi Sigurdsson has added a touch more quality to a side already turning heads with their style of play. The midfielder has six goals in eleven appearances since joining on loan from Hoffenheim.

Like their opponents, Newcastle United were being spoke of, in some circles, as a team who could struggle this season.

However, following a strong first half of the season, largely due to the goals of Senegal international striker Demba Ba, the Magpies themselves made a key addition in the January transfer window.

Ba’s Senegal strike partner Pappis Cisse was brought in by the club for £9 million from Freiburg, and to say he has hit the ground running would be an understatement.

Newcastle’s new number 9 has hit seven goals in seven appearances, his latest two coming in an impressive victory against struggling Liverpool.

It is no surprise that the managers of both of these teams lead the way in the list of the potential LMA Manger of the Year.

Brendan Rogers is the hot favourite to take the prize, and is best price 2.20 (6/5) with Bet Victor.

Though there is no question that Swansea have had a brilliant season, you might be more tempted to place your money on second favourite Alan Pardew. Bet Victor are offering 5.0 (4/1) for the once derided manager to walk away with the trophy.

With a favourable run of fixtures in April, the Toon Army still have a realistic chance of catching Tottenham Hotspur in fourth place. It may just be a stretch too far, but what is certain is that just four more wins would guarantee a top six finish.

Either way, it is hard to see past both of these men, and a mouth-watering fixture is in store this Friday afternoon.
