Liverpool closed the gap behind their top 4 rivals with an impressive victory over Wolverhampton, but it is the match against title contenders Tottenham that will be a real test for Kenny Dalglish’s side.

Taking everything into consideration, we can safely say that Liverpool have done pretty well in all the competitions entered this season.

The Reds did well to qualify for the Carling Cup final by eliminating Manchester City, whereas they beat the other team from Manchester to make it to FA Cup fifth round.

Kenny Dalglish’s side have not been too impressive in the Premier League so far, but they are still very much in the top 4 race, sitting just four points off fourth-placed Chelsea.

Boosted by the 3-0 victory over Wolverhampton and hoping to get revenge on Tottenham for the 4-0 defeat in the first part of the season, the Reds will give their best to win this derby game and they are 2.15 (23/20) with Ladbrokes to claim maximum points.

Luis Suarez finally returns after serving an eight-match ban, whereas Steven Gerrard is back after he was rested against Wolves.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Reina – Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Jose Enrique – Henderson, Gerrard, Adam, Downing – Suarez, Kuyt.

The 4-0 victory over Liverpool in the reversed fixture at White Hart Lane helped kick-start Spurs’ season after disappointing defeats to Manchester rivals, so everybody at Tottenham hopes that another success of Kenny Dalglish’s side will give the team an extra boost in their title race.

Spurs recovered well from the unlucky defeat to title rivals Manchester City, going on to beat Watford in the FA Cup and Wigan in the Premiership and they now have a chance to keep their title hopes alive with three points from Anfield.

Following several under-par performances, Tottenham fans were delighted to see their beloved team play a magnificent game against Wigan and another such performance would probably prove enough for the win over Liverpool.

Even with several important players doubtful for this match, I believe there is a huge value in backing Tottenham at 3.75 (11/4) offered by BetVictor.

Jermain Defoe, Rafa van der Vaart, Aaron Lennon and Emmanuel Adebayor are all injury doubts, so Harry Redknapp must be happy that he managed to snatch Louis Saha from Everton.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-1-1): Friedel – Walker, Kaboul, King, Assou-Ekotto – Kranjcar, Parker, Livermore, Bale – Modric – Adebayor.
