Liverpool vs SwanseaBuoyed by the narrow win at Burnley, Liverpool will want to build on that result when they host high-flying Swansea on Monday evening.

The Swans climbed to eighth thanks to back to back triumphs over Hull City and Aston Villa, and they arrive at Anfield in confident mood.

This season threatened to turn into a major disappointment for Liverpool following some disappointing performances in the early exchanges, with manager Brendan Rodgers blamed by many for the under-par results.

But, despite being under a great deal of pressure, the boss took a major gamble as he altered his preferred style of play in an attempt to help the Reds kick-start their season.

The change worked like a charm as Liverpool are now much more dangerous up front with Raheem Sterling leading the line and the likes of Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho proving support.

As a result, the Reds produced three very good performances in a row, beating Bournemouth and Burnley, while sharing spoils with Arsenal, so another good result appears on the cards.

Having seriously raised their game of late, Liverpool can be backed at 1.73 (8/11) with William Hill to claim maximum points.

Brendan Rodgers is unlikely to make major changes to his starting line-up, with Dejan Lovren, Glen Johnson and Jon Flanagan still out injured.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-3): Mignolet – Toure, Skrtel, Sakho – Henderson, Lucas, Gerrard, Moreno – Coutinho, Sterling, Lallana.

Swansea have continued their uptrend in fortunes under Gary Monk, who has quickly proven he is more than capable of coaching at this level.

Backed by several shrewd signings, the Swans have been in fine form this season, and they currently sit mere four points behind Champions League positions.

Swansea remain extremely difficult to break, while they always seem to have a solution up front, with the likes of Sigurdsson and Bony combining well up front and supported by wingers Monterro and Routledge.

Gary Monk’s charges recovered well from back to back defeats to West Ham and Spurs, beating Hull and Aston Villa in their last two fixtures.

They will now have bigger fish to fry as they face revived Liverpool at Anfield, but bear in mind Swansea are 2.25 (5/4) not to lose at Merseyside.

The visitors will be without Jefferson Monterro, while the likes of Wayne Routledge, Bafetimbi Gomis and Jazz Richards are pushing for starting places.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Fabianski – Richards, Bartley, Williams, Taylor – Carroll, Shelvey – Dyer, Sigurdsson, Routledge – Gomis.
