Premier League

Sunday’s Premier League action concludes at Anfield where Liverpool take on fierce rivals Manchester United.

The Reds’ win over Bournemouth a week ago was both their fifth league victory in succession and enough to see them leapfrog Manchester City into first place after their unbeaten start to the campaign was ended at Chelsea.

That means that Jurgen Klopp’s side are the only unbeaten outfit in the division and another win here will ensure they remain on top of the pile regardless of what Manchester City do against Everton in Saturday’s early kick-off.

Joel Matip has been ruled out for six weeks after fracturing his collarbone in Tuesday evening’s Champions League win over Napoli while fellow defender Trent Alexander-Arnold is a doubt, so Nathaniel Clyne could make what would be his first league appearance of the season.

Mo Salah is the joint-top scorer in the Premier League after his hattrick last weekend and is favourite to get the first goal of this game at 4.33 (10/3), ahead of 6.0 (5/1) chance Roberto Firmino.

The home win can be backed at 1.57 (4/7), with the visitors as highly priced as the 7.0 (6/1) on offer from Bet Victor. The draw is widely available at 4.5 (7/2).

Jose Mourinho’s men ended a run of three straight league draws with victory over Fulham last weekend, though they followed that result with a 2-1 loss in Valencia on Wednesday.

The Red Devils have several injury problems in defence, with Marcos Rojo ruled out and Chris Smalling, Diogo Dalot, Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian and Victor Lindelof all doubts.

Alexis Sanchez will also miss out while Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial will face late fitness tests ahead of kick-off.

Romelu Lukaku is priced at 11.0 (10/1) to open the scoring, with Marcus Rashford a 13.0 (12/1) shot with some firms.

The last two meetings between the sides on Merseyside have ended goalless so you may be tempted to back the 0-0 here at 15.0 (14/1) with a number of firms while Unibet offer 4.75 (15/4) for there to under 1.5 goals in the game.
