Monday’s game between Liverpool and Manchester City is set to close the 32nd round and everybody is hoping they will see a great match at Eastlands.

After beating Manchester United and Sunderland, Liverpool had a good start to the match against West Bromwich as they had taken the lead at the start of the second period, but the Reds ended up losing the game eventually.

Kenny Dalglish’s side, nonetheless, remained in 6th place and they now have a good chance to increase their advantage over Everton and Bolton in the race for the Europa League places.

That will not be easy to do since King Kenny faces a real selection headache, with several important players ruled out of the game.

Steven Gerrard has been ruled out for the season with a groin injury, while Glen Johnson and Daniel Agger also miss out.

Fabio Aurelio, David Ngog and Jonjo Shelvey all resumed training this week and they should make the bench.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Reina – Carragher, Skrtel, Kyrgiakos, Wilson – Meireles, Lucas, Spearing, Kuyt – Carroll, Suarez.

Manchester City have recovered well from the Europa League eliminating and the 2:0 defeat to Chelsea, with the Citizens trashing Sunderland 5:0 at Eastlands last weekend.

Roberto Mancini’s side slipped to fourth place after Chelsea beat Wigan on Saturday, but with Tottenham just three points behind, the Citizens have got to try and win this game.

The good news is that Roberto Mancini has no fresh injury worries at the moment, although Shay Given, Kolo Toure, Micah Richards and Jerome Boateng remain sidelined.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Hart – Boyata, Kompany, Lescott, Kolarov – De Jong, Toure, Silva – Balotelli, Tevez, Johnson.

William Hill sees Liverpool as favourites in this clash, with home win paying 2.62 (13/8) whereas City are 2.88 (17/9) to win the game at 888Sport.
