The second round of Premier League matches concludes at Anfield on Monday evening as Liverpool take on newly promoted Bournemouth.

The hosts left it late to snatch all three points from their season opener at Stoke City, with a superb eighty-sixth minute strike from Philippe Coutinho enough to separate the sides.

Only Manchester City, Manchester United and Leicester City have taken maximum points from their first two games, and Brendan Rodgers will be keen for his side to join them while a home winning margin of five or more goals will fire them to first place.

The Reds could well be unchanged from that win at the Britannia Stadium though Roberto Firmino is pushing for his first start for the club. Jon Flanagan, Joe Allen and Daniel Sturridge all remain side-lined.

Christian Benteke is favourite to open the scoring at 4.5 (7/2) with Stan James, while last weekend’s match winner Coutinho is an 8.5 (17/2) chance with the same firm.

The home win is 1.5 (1/2) with William Hill, with the visitors widely available at 9.0 (8/1). The draw can be backed at 4.8 (19/5) with Betfred.

Eddie Howe’s side were narrowly beaten as they made their Premier League bow at home to Aston Villa a week ago, and they will look to follow the example of fellow new boys Norwich City, who beat Sunderland on Saturday, and win their first game on the road.

A number of Cherries players are pushing for their debuts, including Tyrone Mings who could come in for Charlie Daniels while Harry Arter and loan arrival Christian Atsu are the visitors’ only injury concerns.

Ladbrokes have Callum Wilson at 11.0 (10/1) to get the first goal of the game, and offer 13.0 (12/1) for Yann Kermorgant.

The two sides have only ever met twice; with both of those games have come in the last two seasons, both at Bournemouth and both finishing in victory for the away side by a margin of two goals.

With this in mind, you may be tempted to back Liverpool to win by that margin this time around at 4.33 (10/3) with a variety of firms.
